India cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma provided an injury update on keeper-batter Rishabh Pant after he walked off the field in between IND vs NZ 1st Test. The southpaw was forced to limp off the field after being hit on his knee off Jadeja’s delivery. After the day’s play, the Indian skipper provided an update on Pant’s present condition.

Speaking at a press conference after the day’s play, Rohit Sharma revealed that Rishabh Pant had developed a swelling on his right knee. He pointed out that it was the same knee that underwent a surgery in 2023 following his horrific car crash. Rohit added that the team would tread carefully over Pant’s return to action and said that it remains to be seen if he will take the field again in this game.
“He has got a swelling on his knee. It’s the same knee on which he got the surgery. We don’t want to take risk. Hopefully he’ll be back in this match,” Rohit Sharma said.
