The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are aiming to fast track Rishabh Pant’s recovery with the 2023 World Cup in mind. While the left-hander is likely to miss the entire 2023 due to injury, his faster-than-expected recovery has surprised both BCCI and the NCA staff. Rishabh Pant last played during India’s tour of Bangladesh in December 2022.
As per an ESPNCricinfo report, Pant has recovered faster than expected and is largely pain-free. The 25-year-old has started walking without support and was seen climbing stairs in a recent video. The Delhi Capitals still has a brace around his knee and skill work is still someway off.

Rishabh is currently working on increasing lower body strength and mobility. S Rajnikanth, who worked with Pant at Delhi Capitals, has set exercises for the keeper-batsman. Rajnikanth has worked with several Indian age group teams. He also assisted in the recoveries of Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Murali Vijay in the past. Another NCA physio, Thulasi Ram Yuvaraj, has been with Pant since he was airlifted to Mumbai days after the vehicle accident.
Pant is said to be combining his rehabilitation with aqua therapy, light swimming, and table tennis. He is also taking sessions for age group cricketers on camp at the NCA. The sessions have been organized by VVS Laxman helping the 25-year-old boost morale and break monotony.
