India’s wicketkeeper-batter has posted his first message after his horrific accident on December 30. Currently, at the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai, Pant is recovering from a double ligament surgery. He damaged all three ligaments on the right knee following the accident. After initial treatment in Dehradun, BCCI transferred him to Mumbai. While his road to recovery is tough and time-consuming, he has thanked everyone for their support.
“I am humbled and grateful for all the support and good wishes. I am glad to let you know that my surgery was a success. The road to recovery has begun and I am ready for the challenges ahead. Thank you to the BCCI, Jay Shah & government authorities for their incredible support,” Rishabh Pant said in a tweet.
Rishabh Pant Surgery: In the accident, Rishabh suffered torn all three ligaments in his right knee. While doctors reconstructed three of the ligaments, it will take another six weeks for the 2nd surgery on the ACL ligament.
In a three-hour marathon surgery, Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala reconstructed Pant’s posterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament as per an ESPNCricinfo report. However, doctors did not go ahead with the reconstruction of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament.
