3 milestones Rinku Singh can achieve in MI vs KKR match at Wankhede

Rinku Singh eyes three major milestones in MI vs KKR, including 50 IPL sixes and 250 T20 fours. Can he achieve them?

Kolkata Knight Riders are set to face Mumbai Indians in match 12 of the IPL 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium on March 31. Mumbai is coming to play their first home game after losing the previous two outings. Where KKR will be looking to build a winning momentum after beating Rajasthan Royals. Everything is well and good, but KKR’s power-hitter Rinku Singh is one of the concerning things.

Spotlight on Rinku Singh

All eyes will be on KKR’s middle-order batsman, Rinku Singh. He hasn’t made any impact yet this season, scoring just 12 runs in the opener against RCB. Rinku’s 2024 IPL season was also underwhelming, with 168 runs in 11 innings at an average of 18.66. However, Rinku is known for his explosive batting when least expected, as seen against Gujarat Titans in 2023. A strong performance against MI could see him achieve some milestones in the match.

Records Rinku Singh could break

  • Approaching 250 T20 Fours: Rinku isn’t just about power; he has the ability to send the ball across the boundary on ground. He has amassed 242 fours in T20s. Just eight more will bring him to 250. A solid innings of 40 or 50 could easily see him reach this milestone, against an MI bowling attack that has been known to concede runs because of ground dimensions and pitch.
  • Nearing 50 IPL sixes: Rinku has already hit 46 sixes in the IPL. With just four more, he will join the 50-sixes club, an impressive feat for someone often batting at No. 5 or 6. This shows the impact he created as the game-changer and match finisher in the final overs. If the match goes down to the wire and Rinku is still at the crease, don’t be surprised if he reaches this milestone and possibly finishes the game in style.
  • 150 T20 sixes: Rinku has smashed 146 sixes in his T20 career and needs just four more to reach the 150-mark. Achieving this at the Wankhede, it is famous for its flat pitches and short boundaries, it would place him among an elite group of batters, especially given his knack for hitting crucial sixes under pressure. Along with those 4 sixes, he would also complete his 50 sixes in IPL as well.
