Rinku Singh all but confirms T20 World Cup 2024 spot with blazing half-century on debut in South Africa

Tilak Varma was looking promising coming into bat at number 3 when he was dismissed by Gerald Coetzee and out came Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh on Tuesday scored another fantastic fifty in IND vs SA 2nd T20I to further cement his spot as India’s designated finisher in T20Is. Coming into bat at number 5, the Southpaw played a fluent innings to consolidate India’s position in the match along with captain Suryakumar Yadav.

South Africa won the toss and put India to bat. India had a dismal start losing both openers early. Tilak Varma was looking promising coming into bat at number 3 when he was dismissed by Gerald Coetzee. Out came Rinku Singh.

The left-hander batted with the same confidence that he had shown in recent times, ably assisting Suryakumar Yadav as the skipper played some big shots.

Soon after, Rinku started connecting the ball with the middle of the bat. The southpaw hit nine boundaries on his way to his maiden 50 in T20Is. However, Rinku hit no over boundaries, which is unlike Rinku Singh.
