Revenue of IPL teams increased two-fold in FY24, franchises got Rs 4670 cr from BCCI for IPL 2023: Report

The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises saw their revenue being doubled after IPL 2023, a report has claimed. In total, the teams received Rs 4670 crore from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for IPL 2023 from the central pool as opposed to Rs 2205 crore that they got after IPL 2022. Eight out of the ten franchises have seen their revenue being doubled.

IPL teams’ revenues doubled after 2023

As per Economic Times, Mumbai Indians have the highest revenue among all teams and it doubled doubled to Rs 737 crore in FY24 from Rs 358 crore in FY23. They are followed by Chennai Super Kings, whose revenue shot up to Rs 676 crore from Rs 292 crore, with the team earning a profit of Rs 229 crore and a 4x growth.

RCB are next on the list with Rs 650 crore as revenue and a net profit of Rs 222 crore. Sun TV Network, the owners of the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Eastern Cape franchises, have seen a 138% jump in their revenue in 2024, thanks to the two franchises.
