A few hours ago, cricketing world the mourned the death of former Zimbabwe all-rounder Heath Streak. Streak’s teammate Henry Olonga took to social media to express grief about the passing away of his former teammate due to cancer. However, the latest report to emerge from Zimbabwe is that Streak is alive. Olonga himself confirmed the news about Streak alive on his official Twitter account.
“I can confirm that rumors of the demise of Heath Streak have been greatly exaggerated. I just heard from him. The third umpire has called him back. He is very much alive folks,” Olonga wrote on X.

Players like Ravichandran Ashwin, Dodda Ganesh, VVS Laxman, & Anil Kumble took to Twitter to express grief about Streak’s passing. The players remembered the all-rounders’ immense contribution to the game of cricket.
Heath Streak: Streak alive, says stop spreading fake news
Streak himself confirmed that he is alive and also told the source to apologize for spreading fake news. “It is a total rumor and a lie. I am alive and well. I believe the source sould apologize. I am hurt by the news,” Streak said via Mid day.
“People should be a bit more careful before spreading such rumours. I am better now and recovering from cancer,” a rather disappointed Streak said on Wednesday.
“I am at home and obviously there’s still a bit of strain because of the treatment. But otherwise I am fine,” the former Zimbabwe captain said.
“Suddenly I get to know that people have started talking about my death, as someone shared it on social media. But that was not all correct. I am recovering and feeling a lot better…”
Streak is battling with colan cancer and is in not that active on social media. Hence the former Zimbabwe captain seeked Olanga’s help to say that he is very much alive.
