Rehan Ahmed unsure for Rajkot Test, Three Lions keen to sort visa fiasco soon

IND vs ENG 3rd Test: Visa fiasco hits England Cricket Team, ECB keen to sort Rehan Ahmed's visa fiasco

Rehan Ahmed’s participation in the IND vs ENG 3rd Test is unsure. The young spinner is currently facing visa problems. Rehan Ahmed didn’t have a multi entry visa in the country. The spinner was held at the Rajkot airport as he had a single entry visa in the country.

With the single entry visa, the entry was done and dusted when he joined India a couple of weeks back. But since England went on a break at Abu Dhabi, Rehan’s admission in the country was stopped. Currently, the player is in the country on an emergency basis.

ECB is confident that the visa fiasco will be sorted within the next 48 hours. “Hopefully it (Ahmed’s visa issue) will be sorted in a day or so,” said Ollie Pope while addressing a press conference ahead of the match.

“There was paperwork discrepancy with Rehan Ahmed’s visa. The local authorities at Rajkot Airport were supportive, enabling Rehan entry on a temporary visa. “The correct visa should be processed and issued in the coming days. He will continue to prepare with the rest of the squad ahead of the third Test,” the ECB said in a statement.

Previously, Shoaib Bashir faced a similar situation previously. Bashir too was denied entry in the country with wrong visa processing.
