Jaiswal’s stunning innings included 16 fours and 1 maximum. With his century on Day 2, became only the 17th Indian to score a century on his Test debut. He is the first player to score a century on Test debut vs West Indies in the Caribbean.

- Yashasvi Jaiswal became the 17th Indian batter to score a century on his Test debut. He joined the elite list of players like Lala Amarnath (118), Deepak
- Jaiswal, who faced 387 balls during his innings, broke the record for most balls faced (350) by an Indian on Test debut. He broke Azharuddin’s record of 322 balls.
- Yashasvi broke Sourav Ganguly’s record for scoring the most runs on his Test debut at an overseas venue for Team India.
- Yashasvi is the third Indian batter after Shikhar Dhawan (187) and Rohit Sharma (177) to score over 150 on his Test debut.
- He is also the third Indian batter after Rohit Sharma (177) and Prithvi Shaw (134), to score a century on his Test debut against the West Indies.
- Jaiswal is the fourth-youngest batter to score a century on Test debut for Team India. The 21 years, 197-day-old Jaiswal is only behind Prithvi Shaw (18 years, 329 days), Abbas Ali Baig (20 years, 126 days).
- Yashasvi is the third Indian batter after Rohit Sharma (177) and Prithvi Shaw (134) to score a century on his Test debut against the West Indies.

After the quick dismissal of Jaiswal and Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja have managed to keep the flow of runs coming. Kohli completed his 29th fifty in Tests on Day 3 and is inching close to reaching a century with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja batting alongside him.
