Record breaker! Virat Kohli surpasses Rohit Sharma & Mahela Jayawardene for two big records

The former Indian skipper also became the first Indian in history to score 1,000 runs in World Cup at No.3.

India’s star cricketer Virat Kohli scored his 69th ODI half century in the IND vs BAN World Cup match at MCA Stadium in Pune on Thursday. With another crucial knock, Kohli reached two big milestones. The 34-year-old surpassed teammate and skipper Rohit Sharma to become India’s second-highest getter in ODI World Cups.

Kohli has now become fourth-highest run-scorer in ODI World Cup history. Earlier, Rohit Sharma leap frogged Kohli to move ahead in the list after scoring 86 in IND vs PAK match.

Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja claimed two wickets apiece as India restricted Bangladesh at 256/8 in 50 overs.
