Reasons why PBKS can win IPL 2025

Despite coming close to the IPL trophy several times, PBKS has never won the IPL title.

IPL 2025: PBKS will be under the new leadership of Shreyas Iyer in the upcoming Indian Premier League. In 2025 IPL Auction, Punjab Kings purchased a total of 23 players at the two-day auction, with India batting star Shreyas Iyer being the franchise’s most expensive signing. PBKS also bought back Arshdeep Singh via the Right-to-Match (RTM) option, while securing the services of leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. On that note, let us check out 3 reasons why Punjab Kings can win IPL 2025.

Reasons why Punjab Kings can win IPL 2025

New Leadership

Not only their captain, but PBKS will also be under the new guidance of Ricky Ponting. Ponting has been performing the coaching duties for a long time now, and his aggressive mindset in coaching might be the best tonic for PBKS. Not to mention, PBKS will be led by Shreyas Iyer who was the IPL winning captain in the last edition.

Destructive overseas players

Apart from the Indian talents, including Shashank Singh, Prabhsimran Singh, Iyer, Nehal Wadhera, and Musheer Khan, the Punjab Kings IPL 2025 squad possesses several destructive overseas players. The likes of Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Marco Jansen, and Azmatullah Omarzai can be match-winners with the bat on their day. Combining this group of batters gives PBKS a very solid batting line-up.

Duo of Arshdeep and Chahal

Apart from their destructive batting, PBKS bowling line-up will be led by the premium left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh. In the spin department, Punjab Kings will have the leading wicket-taker of IPL, Yuzvendra Chahal. The likes of Lockie Ferguson, Harpreet Brar and Yash Thakur are expected to compliment Arshdeep and Chahal in the bowling department.
