Why MI might retain Hardik Pandya for IPL 2025?

Mumbai Indians took a very bold decision of removing Rohit Sharma from the captaincy and handing it over to Pandya. The MI camp also had to let go of Cameron Green in order to purchase the all-rounder from the Gujarat side. Considering all the aspects, MI will be keen on giving Pandya at least one more season as a captain.

Hardik Pandya’s captaincy record

When GT made their debut, they signed Hardik for a price of INR 15 crore and appointed him the captain. Hardik made GT a successful team. He won the 2022 season by beating Rajasthan Royals in the finals. Even in the second season, he took them to the finals, but unfortunately, they lost to Chennai Super Kings. He became one of the few captains to lead a team to consecutive finals.

Hardik has a great record as captain. He has played 33 games as captain, won 22 of them, and has a winning ratio of 66.66.

Hardik Pandya is a genuine all-rounder and can surely be ranked as one of the top all-rounders in IPL. Overall, Hardik has played 125 IPL games so far and scored 2344 runs with 10 half-centuries to his name. He has also scalped 54 wickets with the ball.
