Mitchell Starc’s poor stint in IPL 2024 knows no end. The ace Australian pacer continues to leak runs in a flurry, without having much impact in the game. In the high voltage KKR vs RCB clash, Starc conceded 55 runs in his 3 overs and registered just a solitary wicket. Fans have started to grow disappointed with the highest priced player, but Kolkata Knight Riders continue to put their trust on the ace Aussie.

IPL 2024 has been a nightmare for Mitchell Starc. The ODI World Cup winning Aussie pacer stole the headlines after he was bought by KKR for a sum of 24.75 crores in the auction. Naturally the fans pinned their hopes on the star player to delivery, but now, fans are considering him to be a bad investment.

Too Costly!

Imagine the stats – 7 matches played, 25 overs bowled, 287 runs conceded and just 6 wickets scalped. That has been the output of Mitchell Starc for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024.

Making no justice to his high priced salary, Kolkata fans have started to lose their trust on the ace pacer. Come to think of it, Mitchell Starc earns around 7.3 lakh per delivery bowled. So, he has earned 1095 lakh which equates to 10.95 crores. Thus his each wicket has costed 1.825 crores for KKR.

KKR continues to back Starc

Despite his poor performances, their his real camaraderie in the team. In fact the players and the management continue to back the Australian. Youngster Harshit Rana claimed that the team isn’t worried about his poor form. In fact the team is constantly backing the ace pacer to find his red hot form again.

“It’s his own plan. Every bowler takes the field with a plan. He is a top bowler and someday, he will win us games. We are not worried about him. We have full faith in him,” Harshit Rana said in the post-match press conference.
