Dinesh Karthik and Mohammed Siraj were lucky to end up without any serious injury after they collided for a catch on Sunday. The incident occurred on the 5th ball of the 5th over of the MI innings, Rohit Sharma mishit a short ball from Siraj high in the air.

The ball was falling near the short leg region. Wicketkeeper Karthik got underneath the ball and Siraj also ran to take the catch. Lack of communication saw the duo collide with each other and drop the catch.
They dropped the catch of Rohit Sharma.

While Dinesh Karthik called for the catch and signalled for Siraj to leave it, the India pacer was unaware and his entire attention was on the ball in the air. He collided shoulder-first into a crouched Dinesh Karthik and was in visible pain. The physios tended to the pacer before he was deemed fit to continue.
The drop catch left Virat Kohli particularly livid. Rohit being the MI captain was an important scalp and RCB was not happy with the effort of his fielders. Fortunately for RCB, Akash Deep got rid of the Hit-Man next over to put the hosts right on top in the game.
