RCB vs DC Preview

Delhi Capitals Women and Royal Challengers Bangalore are set for an epic showdown in the final of the second edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Both teams will be aiming to lift their maiden WPL silverware. DC and RCB took different paths to reach the WPL final. While DC finished as table toppers and qualified straight for the finals, RCB saw off defending champions Mumbai Indians in the eliminator to set up clash with DC.

Following a defeat to MI at the beginning of the season, Delhi won four straight games before falling short by a single run in a thrilling match against UP Warriorz (UPW) Women. DC remained composed and prevailed against RCB to earn a spot in the playoffs, and then against Gujarat Giants (GG) Women to top the standings and earn a spot in the final.

In contrast, Royal Challengers Bangalore followed a different path until the final. After winning their first two games of the season, they lost their next two. In an effort to return to winning ways, RCB defeated UPW by 23 runs. Before winning the final league game against MI by seven wickets to make it to the playoffs, they lost two more games. They advanced to the final against DC after defeating the MI in the eliminator.

Pitch Report

There will be a new pitch used in the middle. The lack of dew has allowed spinners to have more influence, but Delhi has given seamers good bounce and carry. Because teams are content to bat first, as RCB was in the Eliminator, the toss hasn’t been as important.
