RCB VS DC Head-To-Head: The past record in numbers
Both Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals are playing the league since it’s inaugural edition in 2008. Even after playing fifteen seasons, they both are yet to win an IPL title. Hopefully, one of these two will finish the season as title winners and we get a new IPL champion this time. There have a total of 29 encounters between RCB and DC in IPL.
Out of 29, RCB has won 18 matches while DC have managed 10 wins with one match getting abandoned due to Rain. The first match between the two teams was played during IPL 2008 in which Delhi defeated Bangalore by 10 runs. DC won the first three games back-to-back against RCB. However, after winning first game against DC in 2009, RCB dominated the rivalry. Delhi were able to win just one game against RCB between 2011 to 2018.
IPL 2022 witnessed the last match between the two teams in which RCB defeated DC by 16 runs. Bangalore batted first and set a target of 190 runs for Delhi featuring a flawless 66* runs off 34 balls from the bat of Dinesh Karthik. Delhi scored 173 in the second innings felling short of the target by 16 runs.
Delhi Capitals started off the tournament with four back-to back loses against Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants and the latest one against Mumbai Indians at home. On the other hand, Royal Challengers’ woes got exposed in front of Kolkata Knight Riders. They got defeated by KKR after winning their first match against Mumbai Indians. The last game was a heartbreak where RCB lost to LSG despite scoring in excess of 200 runs. The Red Army is marginally better than Delhi, with one win and two losses from three games.
The rivalry between these two teams has given so many amazing moments for the cricket fans. The fans are expecting another high-scoring thriller at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
