RCB Trials: Virat Kohli’s team keen to bag KKR and PBKS discards, players spotted at trials

RCB Trials: Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Ashutosh Sharma could be additions to RCB, if they do manage to bag them at IPL Auction.

As per RCBIANS Official, RCB conducted trials on Tuesday, before the upcoming IPL Auction that is scheduled to take place in Jeddah on November 24, 25. Surprisingly, the RCB trials, under the watchful eyes of Mo Babat and Dinesh Karthik, was attended by two IPL stars — Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Ashutosh Sharma.

RCB Conducts Trials Before IPL Auction

It is believed that both are on RCBs radar for various roles of IPL 2025. For the record, both Angkrish and Ashutosh had breakout seasons with their respective franchises in 2024, where their performances made heads turn. While playing for KKR, the former appeared in 10 matches, and scored 163 runs with a best of 54. On the other hand, while playing for PBKS, Ashutosh Sharma was impressive, as he scored 189 runs in 11 matches, at a strike-rate of 167.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi is looked at as a No. 3 batter for the team, and Ashutosh is considered for a finisher’s role. Meanwhile, the duo weren’t the only players who appeared for RCB Trials. It was also attended by Delhi pacer Money Grewal, M Siddharth, Manvanth Kumar, and even Deepak Devadiga.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi & Ashutosh Sharma on Radar

Trials doesn’t mean that these players are guaranteed to play for RCB in the next season, but it gives a fair idea that the franchise will certainly look to target these players. For now, they have a huge purse of INR 83 Cr remaining, along with three RTM cards, after they retained Virat Kohli, Yash Dayal, and Rajat Patidar at IPL Retention last month.

The team would also be looking to put their RTM cards to good use, since they went on to release a few big names, who have been proven performers for them over the years. On their radar will also be KL Rahul, who is looked at, as a captain candidate.
