Two wins in two matches, and technically RCB don’t have to change anything in their side; given all the players are performing for them. Come the match against GT, at Chinnaswamy, once again they would hope that their batters continue with their rich form, especially Virat Kohli, who is a different beast against Gujarat, and at home. On the flip side, it could be challenge for the bowlers, as to how they would contain the runs.
But with Josh Hazlewood in their ranks, part of their problem looks to be solved. Rest is up to the spinners, if they can try and contain the runs. All eyes will be on Krunal Pandya, on how he responds to this challenge. InsideSport takes a look at RCB’s playing XI for the GT match on Wednesday.
Virat Kohli To Continue With Phil Salt
These two batters have had different roles at the top of the order. Salt has been the dasher and Kohli has taken things slowly. But that formula has worked for the team fine, and that would continue against GT as well. But the 36-year-old needs to be cautious, in not getting in a defensive mindset. There could be a lot of runs scored tonight.
Skipper Rajat Patidar Should Consider No. 3 Spot
The only change that Rajat Patidar should consider is, batting at No. 3 instead of 4, given his good form. In the last match vs CSK, he slammed a quickfire fifty, and has been batting with a strike-rate of 177 in the IPL 2025. Devdutt Padikkal can slide down in the batting order, depending on the match situation.
No Change in Bowling Needed
Mo Babat had opened up on the scheduling challenge. Unless the team is looking to rest any of the key bowlers, there is no reason for them to change the bowling line-up. All the bowlers, including Hazlewood, Suyash Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yash Dayal have been good; then why change it at all. Most likely, for this home match, it remains the same.
RCB Predicted XI vs GT, IPL 2025
Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, Rajat Patidar (c), Devdutt Padikkal, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Tim David, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Yash Dayal.
