RCB predicted playing XI vs MI: Virat Kohli & co to go for big score, Devdutt Padikkal out?

Rajat Patidar-led RCB take on Mumbai Indians at Wankhede. Devdutt Padikkal's spot under scanner for the playing XI.

In the 20th match of IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will take on Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. It promises to be an exciting clash as Virat Kohli faces off against the formidable team led by Hardik Pandya. RCB will look to capitalise on the batting-friendly conditions at Wankhede, which might result in no changes in the playing XI according to the team’s needs.

Devdutt Padikkal out?

RCB might consider dropping Devdutt Padikkal from the playing XI due to his poor performance in IPL 2025 so far. In three matches, he scored only 41 runs, with just four runs in the last match against Gujarat. There are concerns about his strike rate and scoring ability. However, this match could serve as another opportunity for Padikkal to regain his form.

No changes in playing XI

It appears that Royal Challengers Bangalore will go with the same playing XI because the pitch favours batters. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis are expected to open the innings, with Rajat Patidar possibly coming in at number 3. Jitesh Sharma and David Willey have the responsibility to hit big shots. Krunal Pandya will be crucial as he might be the only spinner RCB takes into the team. Additionally, they have bowlers like Bhubaneswar Kumar and Yash Dayal.

Who will come as an Impact sub?

Devdutt Padikkal while chasing and Rasikh Dar while defending could come in as impact players. Rasikh Dar has been brilliant with the ball but needs to work on his strike rate a bit more. He could get a chance to play and might be able to scalp wickets on the bouncy pitch of Wankhede Stadium.
