RCB fans welcome Virat Kohli’s son Akaay during WPL 2024 match

The fans welcomed Virat Kohli's newborn son Akaay during the WPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriorz.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fans showed their love and support for Virat Kohli and his family by welcoming his son Akaay with lion cub posters during the WPL 2024 game between RCB Women and UP Warriorz at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The fans were spotted holding posters of Akaay, portraying him as a cub of a lion, with messages such as “Akaay welcome to RCB”.

Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma, who are already parents to their daughter Vamika, announced the birth of their second child, a baby boy named Akaay, on February 20. The couple revealed that the boy was born on February 15, Monday, and requested the fans to respect their privacy.

The name Akaay has a profound spiritual significance, as it means “body-less”, suggesting someone transcending physical form or being greater than mere physical existence. In Turkish, the name Akaay symbolizes a shining moon.

Kohli, who had taken a break from the ongoing India vs England Test series to be with his wife during the birth of their second child, will return in the IPL 2024, starting on March 22.
