Royal Challengers Bengaluru have beaten Chennai Super Kings for the second time in the IPL 2025 now. However, this time RCB has beaten CSK in social media following, not any match. RCB now holds the No. 1 spot as the IPL franchise with the most followers on Instagram. They have around 17.8 million followers, while CSK trails slightly behind with 17.7 million followers. This social media success came after RCB’s strong start to the season compared to CSK and the historic win at the Chepauk Stadium after 17 years.
Memorable win in Chennai
RCB recently won against Chennai by 50 runs and ended their 17-year losing streak in Chepauk Stadium against Chennai Super Kings. Skipper, Rajat Patidar’s half-century was well supported by RCB’s disciplined bowling attack, which capitalised on early wickets to snap a jinx which lasted from IPL 2008. RCB posted a challenging 196/7 and restricted CSK to 146/8, earning a convincing 50-run win.
CSK’s consolation and struggles
For CSK, captain MS Dhoni managed to provide some excitement towards the end with a quick 30 not out off 16 balls, surpassing Suresh Raina as the highest run-scorer for CSK in IPL history. Despite this individual achievement, CSK’s lack of planning and inability to recover from an early setback resulted to their defeat.
