Gaps RCB need to fill on Day 2 of IPL 2025 auction
RCB still have a tall task in terms of finding a strong midle-order on Day 2 of IPL 2025 auction. To everyone’s surprise, the team did not bid aggressively either for KL Rahul or Glenn Maxwell. The trophy-less franchise enter Day 2 of the auction with the highest purse among the rest of the teams and hence will be expected to pick more number of stars on Day 2.
While RCB’s top-order looks sorted for now, the team shouldn’t hesitate to use RTM to retain Faf du Plessis. The South African, who was the captain of the side till IPL 2024, will boost the side’s top-order. The team needs to focus on building a battery of all-rounders, who are also power hitters. On Day 2, the team can target the likes of Rovman Povell, Daryll Mitchell, Krunal Pandya, Washington Sundar.
RCB also need more spinners and pacers to complete their bowling line-up. Pacers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep, Lockie Ferguson and Gerald Coetzee are in the fray for the team to pick from. RCB also has a huge pool of uncapped bowlers to also choose from. Given how miserly RCB were on Day 1, they need to go all out on Day 2 of IPL 2025 auction in order to build a formidable squad.
