Looking at the RCB side, just about no one will give them a chance in IPL 2025, to go the distance. But then ex-India cricketer Rohan Gavaskar believes otherwise. Even before the start of the tournament, he has predicted that Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar’s Royal Challengers Bengaluru could go on to lift the cup.
RCB Chasing First IPL Title, Rohan Gavaskar Optimistic
That said, RCB remains among the handful of teams, that is yet to win a title in the history of the tournament. Speaking on Cricbuzz, Gavaskar said, “RCB are going to win the title this year.” Apart from that, the southpaw also picked SRH, DC and MI as his other playoffs contenders. RCB has finished as runners-up, thrice in the tournament.
As for the top run-getter, MVP, Gavaskar had his say too. For the Orange cap his pick was Abhishek Sharma. While for the Purple cap he chose Jasprit Bumrah. For MVP, it was a choice between Travis HEad and Heirich Klaasen. “It’s either going to be Heinrich Klaasen or Travis Head,” he added.

Klaasen and Head were retained for Rs 23 crore and Rs 14 crore, respectively, by SRH ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction last year after they impressed with their batting performances in IPL 2024. Meanwhile, the tournament kicks off on March 22, between RCB and KKR, at Eden Gardens Kolkata.
