Ravindra Jadeja’s Record Knock: Jadeja reveals change in mindset in interview with Mayank Agarwal ‘never took batting seriously, but now want to score big’
Speaking to Mayank Agarwal after the end of play on Day 2, Ravindra Jadeja revealed that he changed his mindset over the last few years which has helped him realise his potential with the bat. In the last five years, he has scored 1441 runs at an average of 46.48 including two centuries and 17 fifties.
When quizzed by Agarwal as to what has changed in his technique and his thinking, Jadeja revealed that he focused a lot more on contributing with the bat and being a valuable contributor down the order.
Jadeja said, “I have changed my mindset a lot. I have started to take my batting more seriously of late. Earlier I used to not think much of my batting or scoring runs, but now in the last 2-3 years I have thought about converting my Ranji Trophy success at the international level.”

Jadeja’s innings of 175 not out is the highest by an Indian batting at No.7 or lower in Test matches. The Indian all-rounder broke the 34-year-old record of legendary captain Kapil Dev, who scored 163 way back in 1986.
