Where almost every Indian star, making their first-class return failed, Ravindra Jadeja has dished out on his best bowling performances. In the ongoing Ranji Trophy match against Delhi, Jadeja has plucked another five-wicket haul to complete his tenth 10-wicket haul in first-class cricket. He took a superb fifer in the second innings, including a wicket of Rishabh Pant to take Saurasthra miles ahead in the match.
Ravindra Jadeja stars in SAU vs DEL Ranji Trophy clash
Ravindra Jadeja hit the bullseye from Day 1 of the Ranji Trophy match as he took a five-wicket haul in the first innings to bundle Delhi for 188. But in the second innings, we saw a different beast altogether. Jaddu took the new ball along side Jaydev Unadkat and rattled a decent-looking batting lineup with rather ease. Jadeja first sent back Sanat Sangwan in his second over before dismissing Arpit Rana and dasher Jonty Sidhu.
However, the biggest fish came when he sent back Rishabh Pant, who was caught by Sheldon Jackson. Prior to that, there was a decent partnership brewing between Pant and captain Ayush Badoni. But regardless, Jadeja quickly completed his fifth by getting Mayank Gusain in a similar fashion. Eventually, Badoni had to go out as well, and Jadeja ended the spell at 7/38. His match figures, incredibly, are 12/104, just a wicket behind his career-best 13/126.
Saurashtra decimate Delhi
Courtesy of Jadeja’s havoc, Saurashtra bundled Delhi for a mere 94 in the second innings. And now, the hosts at the Niranjan Shah Stadium Ground C require a paltry 12 runs to clinch the match. This is just a formality by the two teams!
