Ravindra Jadeja lauds “cheerful” Rishabh Pant, says he cracks jokes to make everyone laugh

Rishabh Pant has an exceptional record while batting against Australia. He has mustered 624 runs at an average of 62.40 and enjoys a superb SR of 72.13 Down Under.

Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has heaped praise on Rishabh Pant, calling attention to the invaluable role he plays in the Indian cricket team. Speaking to 7 Cricket, Jadeja emphasized Pant’s infectious energy and exceptional wicket-keeping and batting skills. Jaddu has waxed lyrical about Pant two days before the much-awaited opening BGT Test match between India and Australia at the Optus Stadium (Nov 22).

Rishabh Pant is an “exciting” cricketer

He is a very exciting cricketer. Whenever Pant is around in the team, he always makes everyone laugh; enjoying, cheering, crack a joke. So it is good to have him back in the team. And also, being the wicket-keeper batter, he is one of the best in the country,” Jadeja said.

Pant’s heroics in the 2021 Gabba Test cemented his status as one of India’s most promising talents. His recent form has further ignited excitement among fans, both in India and Australia, ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). Jadeja expressed optimism that Pant would continue his stellar form and deliver match-winning performances in the series.

India enters the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) facing several challenges. An unprecedented home series loss to New Zealand has dampened spirits, and the team is dealing with selection issues as well. Regular captain Rohit Sharma is unavailable for the first Test as he has decided to spend time with his family after becoming a father for the second time. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill’s injury adds to the team’s woes. Gill was hit on his left thumb while fielding against India A.
