You won’t see any videos uploaded on Ravichandran Ashwin’s YouTube channel covering the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) matches at the IPL 2025. After his social media channel receiving criticism from several fans and conflict of interest debates, the CSK veteran spinner has come to a foregone conclusion not to put any previews or review videos for all CSK matches this season.
Ravichandran Ashwin YouTube channel controversy
Being one of the best spinners of his generation, Ravichandran Ashwin also has two YouTube channels. Ashwin (tamil language) and Ashkibaat (hindi language). Ashwin himself covered the entire IPL 2025 auction and all the pre-IPL buzz. Ashwin was also spotted on a couple of times across his channels during the tournament, a day or two after CSK’s first win against Mumbai Indians (MI).
However, just when CSK got things wrong, the channel attracted more eyeballs, not without fair share of controversies. In one of the occasions, one of the guests went onto say that CSK shouldn’t consider Noor Ahmad, picked at Rs 10 crore. This is despite Noor being CSK’s best player so far in this IPL 2025.
In another occasion, one of CSK’s scout claimed that he offered superb youngsters to the Chennai but the management didn’t entertain his scouting developments. All this, combined with more conflicting views went down harsh on Ashwin’s YouTube channel despite the star player not even featuring in the aforementioned videos.
What did Ashwin write on YouTube channel?
“Given the nature of the discussions on this forum over the last week, we want to be mindful of how things can be interpreted and have chosen to step away from covering CSK games, both previews and reviews, for the rest of this season.”
“We value the diversity of perspectives that come through on our shows and remain committed to ensuring the conversation stays true to the integrity and purpose of the platform we’ve established. The views expressed by our guests do not reflect Ashwin’s personal opinions. We appreciate all those who engage thoughtfully with the spirit of the show.”
“Your feedback continues to help us refine and improve what we’ve built over the years. The Small Council will continue with all non-CSK games as usual. Looking forward to witnessing the rest of this exciting IPL season with all of you.”
The fuss about Ashwin’s YouTube channel grew so much that it was talked about after CSK’s recent loss when Stephen Fleming attended the press conference.
Talking about CSK, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side is in a spot of bother currently. They are on a three-match losing streak and are languishing at ninth on the IPL points table.
