The Indian cricket team are gearing up for the two-match Test series against South Africa, starting on Tuesday in Centurion. However, heavy rain and thunderstorm are likely to play spoilsport on opening day of the Boxing Day Test.
Team India’s practice session was cancelled on Monday due to persistent rains. However, in what comes as a huge boost, Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin provided a good news on the eve of the first Test.

The veteran spinner took to Instagram Broadcast on Monday to inform fans that sun has peaked through the clouds after hours of rain.
Ashwin posted a picture of clear sky on his Instagram channel and wrote, “Sun finally breaking through after a wet day.”
With the pitch likely to offer more assist to pacers, the Indian management is likely to go with 4 pacers and 1 spinner for the 1st Test. This means, Ravichandran Ashwin might have to sit out to make way for Shardul Thakur in Playing XI.
India’s Test Squad: Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Abhimanyu Easwaran, KL Rahul (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Prasidh Krishna, KS Bharat (wk).
