Notably, England had a horror run in the World Cup 2023, winning just 2 games in their 8 games so far. The team is in danger to miss out on the Champions Trophy 2025 qualification due to their standing in the World Cup points table . The Three Lions will need to win their final league game by a big margin to seal the Champions Trophy spot.
Currently, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, and England are in contention of the final two spot.
A loss for any two of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka or the Netherlands would confirm England’s qualification.
However, if all teams in contention win their remaining matches, it will all come down to NRR.
The Jos Buttler-led side will play their final game of the World Cup 2023 on November 11 against Pakistan at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
