Rashid achieved this remarkable feat during MI Cape Town’s Qualifier One match against Paarl Royals in Gqeberha. His consistent performances in T20 leagues worldwide have made him a formidable force with the ball.

In the Qualifier One clash, Rashid took 2/34 in his four-over spell, dismissing Dunith Wellalage and Dinesh Karthik while defending a challenging total of 200 runs. These wickets took his tally to 633 wickets in 461 matches, surpassing Bravo, who had held the record with 631 wickets.
