Rashid achieved this remarkable feat during MI Cape Town’s Qualifier One match against Paarl Royals in Gqeberha. His consistent performances in T20 leagues worldwide have made him a formidable force with the ball.
In the Qualifier One clash, Rashid took 2/34 in his four-over spell, dismissing Dunith Wellalage and Dinesh Karthik while defending a challenging total of 200 runs. These wickets took his tally to 633 wickets in 461 matches, surpassing Bravo, who had held the record with 631 wickets. To note, Rashid Khan is 335 wickets ahead of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is India’s leading wicket-taker in the T20 format with 298 scalps in 321 games.
