This Ranji Trophy, there have been a few players who have consistently shone with the bat. While the cricket pundits seem to be talking about the likes of Sarfaraz Khan, Devdutt Padikkal, and Riyan Parag only, one man from Tamil Nadu has quietly gone about his business, and consolidated his position at the top of the list of highest run-getters this year.
It’s Tamil Nadu opener N Jagadeesan, whose 321, kind of, got overshadowed by Tanmay Agarwal’s world record-breaking 366, but was enough to make him the leading run-getter in the tournament so far. The 28-year-old has 600 runs so far in four matches, at an average of 200.
Jagadeesan scored his first triple ton in first-class cricket, against Chandigarh on Saturday, surpassing his previous best score of 245, also attained this year, in fact in the previous match versus Railways.
