India pacer Ishant Sharma, who has been out of the team for a while now, will walk into the playing XI of the Delhi Ranji Trophy team, as they prepare to take on Baroda in the fifth-round match on Friday. The veteran bowler, who has over 300 Test wickets to his name, had made himself available for Delhi home matches earlier.
Team Delhi is struggling at the moment in the competition with only one win from four matches, with two losses coming their way. To add to their woes, they had controversies brewing in the camp, when Yash Dhull was removed as the captain after the first match, and then Ayush Badoni was asked to stay at the hotel in the last encounter. Ishant’s presence could certainly lift the team.
Meanwhile, Ishant had last played for India in 2021; a Test against New Zealand at Green Park. He has 311 wickets in the format, from 105 Tests.
