Ranji Trophy 2024: Vidarbha player bowls 53 dots in nine overs, gives away only six runs

Aditya Sarwate was part of the Vidarbha team as well, when they won the Ranji Trophy in 2019.

The Ranji Trophy 2024 second round is underway, and already some stellar performances have started to come from teams, as well as individual players. Former champions Vidarbha continued their good show, in their second clash against Manipur, after deflating Services in their first.

On Friday, Vidarbha started well as they bundled out the minnows for a paltry 75 in the first innings, after scoring 230. Interestingly, one player came to the fore, for Vidarbha, with the bat and the ball, both. All-rounder Aditya Sarwate first scored 69, and then bagged 4/6, in a stunning display. What was even more noteworthy was that Sarwate in his quota of nine overs, bowled 53 dots, while only one scoring shot was played in his spell.

Only Bikash Singh, who scored 13 for Manipur, could score off him, that too a six. Later, Sarwate dismissed him too. Currently, on the second day of the fixture, Vidarbha lead by a massive 149 runs, and Manipur face the danger of losing the match by a big margin, which could fetch the other team a bonus point as well.

Sarwate Overall Record

Aditya Sarwate is an experienced campaigner at the Ranji Trophy level and has played 52 first-class matches so far. He has picked 239 wickets and scored 1603 runs, at an average over 27.
