Notably, the monsoon season will be in full swing in most parts of India during the month of June, which could prove to be a massive hindrance in the smooth execution of these fixtures. However, rain sets only in July in the capital of Karnataka, by when the competition will be over. Hence, it seems to be a perfectly logical call on BCCI’s part.
As for the current proceedings in 2022 Ranji Trophy, eight teams in Madhya Pradesh, Bengal, Karnataka, Mumbai, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh have made it to the quarter-finals, which will commence on May 30.
