IPL 2022: With question mark on fitness, will Hardik Pandya get MEGA-PRICE at MEGA-Auction? All-rounder set to miss the West Indies series

Ranji Trophy 2022: Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya go down memory lane, train together in Baroda ahead of new season of Ranji Trophy

While Hardik Pandya was dropped from the India white-ball squad after the T20 World Cup 2021, Krunal Pandya has been out of favour after second-string Indian team’s tour of Sri Lanka in July.

Training here and watching the kids practice took me back to the good old days with @hardikpandya7 back in Baroda. We always make it a point to revisit those days together and cherish all the amazing memories that we share 🤗😁 pic.twitter.com/ABolJu1g1o

Pandya Brothers Struggling for form: After the completion of IPL 2021, Krunal led his domestic team Baroda in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021. He relinquished his captaincy after Baroda’s dismal performance in the domestic T20 event.

He however remained available for the team selection as a specialist all-rounder for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021.

There he registered scores of 39, 7, 10 10, 24 and 38 and took 7 wickets before Baroda once again failed to enter the knockout stage.

The 30-year-old has also been released by Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of the IPL 2022 mega-auction.

Ranji Trophy 2022 – Will Hardik Play Domestic Cricket? Hardik Pandya has also struggled with his form and fitness lately.

After an unimpressive outing in IPL 2021 and the T20 World Cup 2021, the star all-rounder was dropped from the national squad and released by the 5-time champions MI.

If sources are to be believed, the 28-year-old might be seen playing for newly-formed Ahmedabad franchise in the next season.

Players like Shahrukh Khan and Venkatesh Iyer have risen in stature with their recent performances, and with Hardik not bowling due to injury concerns, his comeback to the international fold is looking very far.

The injured all-rounder will miss India’s first home series in New-Year against the West-Indies.

BCCI has asked Hardik to report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA). The former Mumbai Indians all-rounder will work on his bowling fitness under the watchful eyes of experts at NCA in the New-Year instead of being considered for the selections.

India host the West Indies for three ODIs and as many T20Is from February 6 to 20. Post the series against the West-Indies, India are also scheduled to host Sri Lanka for two Tests and three T20Is from February 25 to March 18.

The 28-year-old is unlikely to be considered for the selections for either of the series.
