Rajasthan Royals have always found the most innovative ways to thank the ground staff of the Sawai Mansingh Stadium who made sure that the home of the Royals is always ready. Ahead of their IPL 2024 opening clash against LSG, the RR players took time out of their training to honour these hardworking people. The players, along with Sanju Samson, decided to hand their first jersey of the season to the groundsmen for their immense efforts.
In a heartwarming post shared on Twitter, Rajasthan Royals shared the moment as the entire team posed for a picture with the ground staff. Earlier, captain Sanju Samson, Dhruv Jurel and Yuzi Chahal were seen gifting them the Rajasthan Royals jersey.
“From us, to the caretakers of our home – our heroes from behind the scenes.” the caption of the post read on X.
This is not the first time that the Rajasthan Royals have found a special way to honour people behind the scenes. In 2023, the IPL Franchise revealed their kits for the season in a heartfelt video with th ground staff.
RR look for their second trophy in IPL 2024:
Since winning the elusive trophy in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League, Rajasthan Royals’ quest for their second title continues as we head into the IPL 2024.
Over the past two years, Rajasthan Royals have methodically constructed their team, evident in their impressive performances – they have the joint-second most wins since IPL 2022, with 17 victories in 31 matches.
With the majority of their playing XI retained from the previous season, the Sanju Samson-led team exudes confidence. Rajasthan Royals boast a well-established batting lineup, featuring Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Samson, and Shimron Hetmyer as the core.
In the bowling department, RR maintains continuity while also securing a reliable backup for Trent Boult in Nandre Burger. A notable change for RR this season is their focus on recruiting specialists rather than all-rounders, with only three in their ranks – R. Ashwin, Parag, and Abid Mushtaq.
