RR Playoffs hurdle begins!
Speaking about RR in the playoffs is surely not a good topic to discuss in front of RR fans and their team. RR have played four times since the 2008 victory, but they have never achieved success. In 2013, they surely defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator after finishing in third place. But they lost the qualifier 2 against the Mumbai Indians, who eventually became champions that year.
In 2015, they certainly secured a spot in the playoffs after finishing the group stage in 4th place, but once again failed to make an impact as they lost in the eliminator to Royal Challengers Bengaluru by a significant margin of 71 runs.
In 2018, the playoff hurdle remained a challenge for them as well. Under the captaincy of Steve Smith, it was considered their best chance, as the team was performing exceptionally well. However, they couldn’t make that final push. They lost the eliminator once again, this time to the Kolkata Knight Riders.
