The picturesque moments were captured in beautiful images posted by Samson on his Instagram account, showcasing the duo riding the waves against the stunning backdrop of Cape Town.

The Instagram post carried a caption expressing the significance of the morning spent surfing with Paddy Upton. Samson’s bond with Upton extends beyond the cricket field, as revealed by the Rajasthan Royals captain earlier.

Recalling the early days with Rajasthan Royals, Samson reminisced about joining the team in 2013. S Sreesanth, a key figure in the squad, had facilitated Samson’s trials under the watchful eyes of Rahul Dravid and Paddy Upton. Despite not harboring high expectations, Samson delivered an exceptional performance during the two-day trials, earning praise from the current Indian team coach, Rahul Dravid.

Sanju Samson, synonymous with Rajasthan Royals, has been a standout performer for the franchise over the years. Although he began his IPL journey with KKR, Samson found his cricketing home with RR, showcasing his prowess with the bat.

Upton, who previously served as India’s mental conditioning coach during the triumphant 2011 World Cup campaign under MS Dhoni, was also part of the Indian team for T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

Upton’s recruitment came on the recommendation of Rahul Dravid, reflecting their close collaboration in the 2010s. Their partnership extends back to their time at Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals), solidifying their working relationship.
