Rain threat looms large, IND vs NZ 1st Test in Bengaluru likely to bear the brunt

Rain to play spoilsport, 41% of rain & thundershower on opening two days. More trouble on Day 3 with 67% chance of rain

Much like Kanpur, the weather gods are in the mood to trouble the upcoming IND vs NZ 1st Test in Bengaluru. Rain can play a massive spoilsport on Day 1 when India and the Black Caps lock horns at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. In fact, the rain prediction is huge for all five days and thus there is a strong possibility of the game getting ruined by the rain.

Morning drizzles and cloudy skies forced both the New Zealand and India Cricket Team to undergo an indoor training session on Monday. In the buildup to the crucial encounter, it is bad news. The predictions for the days of the Test match seem gloomy as well as it is poised to rain on all five days.

Will rain ruin IND vs NZ 1st Test?

Day 1 is predicted to have a 100% cloud cover with 41% rain accompanied by thundershower in the afternoon. With morning drizzles or overnight rain, the match can also get a delayed start. Day 2 is no better. There is a prediction of 40% rain for 2 hours of rain in the afternoon which can be a huge problem for both teams.

If Day 1 and 2 weren’t bad, Day 3 is worse. As the days increase, the threat of rain disrupting the entire game increases manifold. Day 3 has a prediction of 67% rain accompanied by thundershowers. However, the last two have a slight rain probability of 25% and 24%.

While India clinched a stunning win against Bangladesh in 2.5 days in Kanpur. The same can’t be expected from New Zealand at Bengaluru. The rain threat won’t sit well with the hosts. India is in good form and is eager to continue to their red-hot form for the next three games.

This series will mainly serve as a preparatory series for the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy. And with crucial World Test Championship (WTC) Points available, India will be desperate to grab maximum points and not let it go to waste due to rain.
