It seems like, just a day before the opening IPL 2025 match between KKR and RCB, both teams could not have a decent practice session, as it was disrupted by a sudden thunderstorm, as per a report in OneIndia Bengali. The venue of the match Kolkata is on Orange alert for the match date, and the effects of it can already be seen on Friday.
Virat Kohli Completes Net Session Before Practice Being Called Off
The report further states that the two teams were scheduled to practice from 5pm onwards, but by 6pm the session was called off. However, RCB’s Virat Kohli managed to complete his nets session. The ground staff got into action swiftly and covered the pitch and the outfield to prevent it from any damage.

Prior to this, KKR’s second intra-squad practice match was cut short due to rain once again. There, only one innings was completed, before the match came to a halt. According to Accuweather, there is a 90% chance of precipitation in Kolkata on the match day. Meanwhile, all eyes will be on KKR and RCB’s playing XIs for the opening match.
