Rain dances on Pakistan’s hopes, kicks Babar Azam & Co out of T20 World Cup

Pakistan needed to win their final group stage game in T20 World Cup against IRE and hope for USA to lose to Ireland in the game at Lauderhill

The rain gods weren’t in favour of Pakistan on Friday as the USA vs IRE match in Florida was called off due to a wet outfield. The no result means that USA have received one point and are through to the Super 8 stage of the marquee tournament. Pakistan needed to win their final group stage game against Ireland and hope for USA to lose to Ireland in the game at Lauderhill.

Pakistan’s T20 World Cup dream ends

Pakistan started off their T20 World Cup campaign on an awful note, suffering a shock defeat at the hands of the USA in their very first game. To make matters worse, Babar Azam and co. let victory slip out of their hands in the game against arch-rivals India. PAK managed to finally get a win against Canada but it came too late in the tournament.

Even if Pakistan win their final group stage game, they will stand no chance of making it to the Super 8, as they will have just 4 points to their name while USA has 5 points and India has 6 points.
