New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra smashed his maiden Test century as the Blackcaps dominated Day 1 of the NZ vs SA 1st Test. Partnering with skipper Kane Williamson, the southpaw piled more misery on the inexperienced Proteas side as the hosts are in firm control of the Test at the moment.
NZ vs SA: Rachin Ravindra slams maiden Test ton
Rachin took 189 deliveries to reach his century, smashing 11 boundaries and a six en route to the milestone. This is the southpaw’s fourth Test. On the other hand, skipper Williamson also slammed a century.
Openers Devon Conway and Tom Latham couldn’t sustain themselves at the crease for long. Conway was the first to depart when the side had just two runs on board after he was trapped for an LBW. Next was Latham, who was dismissed in the 16th over. Williamson and Rachin then took over, putting up a 200+ run partnership as the hosts dominated all three sessions.
