R Ashwin equals Muralitharan’s world record of most ‘Player of the series’ awards in Test

Ashwin now holds a unique record for the most Player of the Series awards in Test cricket, equaling Muttiah Muralitharan.

Ravichandran Ashwin has equaled the world record for the most Player of the Series awards in Test cricket, matching the legendary Muttiah Muralitharan, after securing his 11th award during the India vs Bangladesh series on October 1.

Ashwin conqrued the seires with his legacy. He proved that he is best all-rounder of India in Test as he scored hundred and picked wickets in the series.

Most player of the series awards in Test

Ashwin is just one series away from breaking Muttiah Muralitharan’s record for the most Player of the Series awards, as he currently has 11 to Muralitharan’s 12. Jacques Kallis is in third place with 9 awards, while Imran Khan has bagged 8. This achievement highlights Ashwin’s exceptional all-round abilities in Test cricket.
