South Africa wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock has created history as he joins the likes of Adam Gilchrist and Sarfaraz Ahmed for most catches in a single Cricket World Cup match. De Kock bagged six catches behind the stumps in the SA vs AFG Cricket World Cup game as South Africa bowled out Afghanistan for 244 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

De Kock completed the catches of Ibrahim Zadran, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Ikram Ali Khil, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad to record his name in the history books. Earlier, Adam Gilchrist grabbed six catches against Namibia in the 2003 World Cup edition. On the other hand, former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed achieved the same feat against South Africa during the 2015 World Cup.
Speaking more on De Kock, the Southpaw has been in impressive touch in the World Cup so far. Playing his last WC, the left-handed batter has already amassed 550 runs in just eight innings. Quinton de Kock is averaging 68.75 in the World Cup so far and is sitting second on the list for most runs in the tournament.
