Qais Ahmad replaces Sharafuddin Ashraf as concussion substitute in SL vs AFG 3rd T20I

Sharafuddin had completed a catch to dismiss Kusal Mendis but injured his head in the process and had to walk back into the dressing room.

In an unfortunate turn of events, Sharafuddin Ashraf had to walk off the field in the Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan 3rd T20I in Dambulla. The bowling all-rounder, who was stationed at cover point, ran back to complete an incredible catch and give Afghanistan their first breakthrough.

However, in the attempt to complete the catch, the 29-year-old hit his head on the ground. The all-rounder looked in pain but showed a good sign when he stood up and walked off the field. The fielder was then replaced by Qais Ahmad, who is a bowler by trade, unlike Sharafuddin Ashraf.

Coming to the match, although Sharafuddin Ashraf suffered an injury, his catch helped Afghanistan take their first wicket. In the very next over, Kusal Perera was dismissed, and the Pathans had their eyes set on winning their first match of the tour.

Without Rashid Khan, the Ibrahim Zadran-led side has looked toothless in the T20Is. Although they lost the first match by just 4 runs, in the second match they were handed a 72-run defeat. If they lose the SL vs AFG 3rd T20I, they would end the tour without a single win.
