IPL 2023: Former West Indies cricketers Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard have been best of friends for more than a decade. While the duo has scared the opposition with their all-round performances on the field, their off-the-field banters always keep their fans entertained. On Thursday, Dwayne Bravo, who is the current bowling coach of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), took a hilarious dig at his old friend Kieron Pollard after CSK clinched their fifth IPL title. Bravo teased Pollard for winning the first trophy as a coach before the latter. Notably, Pollard is the current batting coach of the Mumbai Indians. Follow Cricket Live Updates with InsideSport.IN.
Bravo took to Instagram and posted a video of the banter in which the former CSK player did not hold back in reminding Pollard of his franchise cricket trophy count. Bravo pointed out that he possesses more trophies in franchise cricket than Pollard.
Bravo further teased his mate by stating that Chennai Super Kings is the most successful franchise in IPL. However, the former MI all-rounder didn’t back down and questioned Bravo’s claim to which the latter highlighted that his team won two Champions Trophies while Mumbai Indians claimed only one.
“Can someone help me settle this debate. Apparently the LLORD @kieron.pollard55 believes that his team is the most successful IPL team. Let the record show that @chennaiipl is the most successful IPL team. Furthermore, he @kieron.pollard55 wants to talk about trophies. Let the records show AGAIN this is now my 17th title while @kieron.pollard55 you are still on #15. You have some serious catching up to do. Put some respect on my name please. Thank you very much. #sirchampion,” Bravo captioned the post.
Notably, both all-rounders won several trophies together for Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League. The duo didn’t play together last year but are set to reunite in the upcoming edition of the tournament.
