The Pakistan Super League has entered the business end already, with two teams having qualified for the playoffs in the ninth edition — Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi. Meanwhile, another three teams are in contention, with only two more spots up for grabs. The likes of Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, and Karachi Kings will be battling it out for the remaining spots.
PSL Playoffs Qualification Scenarios
Quetta Gladiators
So far on the fourth position, Quetta Gladiators have played eight matches and won four, and lost three. They have won just one encounter in their last five, but still are on their way, to go through. With nine points in their kitty, they just need one more win to enter the playoffs.
Matches Left: vs Lahore Qalandars (March 10), vs Multan Sultans (March 12).
Karachi Kings
After their win against Lahore Qalandars on Saturday, Karachi Kings are still in the mix for the last four finish. In nine matches, they have won four, and lost five. The equation is simple for them; win against Peshawar Zalmi, and qualify. But here’s the catch. They would need Islambad United and Quetta to qualify, that too badly. They had a NRR of -200, which makes matters worse for them.

Islamabad United
They just have to win their last match against Multan Sultans to go to the next stage. Even if they lose their final league match, they could still have a chance to make it, on the basis of superior NRR. But if Karachi lose their last match, Islamabad and Quetta will qualify.
