PSL 2024: Player hospitalized; IPL stars Tabraiz Shamsi and Daniel Sams ruled out for 1 match

Shamsi and Sams are the third and fourth highest wicket takers for their franchise, the Karachi Kings.

The PSL 2024 season has been hit with another controversy. South African player Leus Du Plooy has been hospitalized after an alleged case of food poisoning ahead of the Karachi Kings vs Quetta Gladiators match. Two of his other Karachi Kings teammates, Tabraiz Shamsi and Daniel Sams, will also be unavailable for the match.

According to Dawn News journalist Imran Siddique, foreign players of the Shan Masood-led Karachi Kings (KK) have been hit with a stomach bug that may see them field a couple of overseas players rather than the quota of four players. Not only this but it is being reported that as many as 17 members of the Karachi Kings have become ill after partaking in some food yesterday.

The timing of the unfortunate illness spreading at the King’s camp couldn’t have come at a worse time. Having already lost two of their four matches, KK is in desperate need of a win. Stationed at the fifth spot on the PSL 2024 points table, Shan Masood and Co. need a win to strengthen their PSL Playoff qualification chances.
