PSL 2024: PCB’s Zaka Ashraf livid over inadequate food, below average preparations for draft

The recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft has irked PCB’s Zaka Ashraf for many reasons. One of the main reasons happens to inadequate food. The draft took place on December 13 in Lahore. As per Cricket Pakistan, Ashraf was disappointed with the way the event was organized and pulled up Director Shoaib Sheikh for the mishap.

Mishaps galore at PSL 9 draft event

Noting that one of the primary concern was inadequate food, Ashraf reportedly targeted the Director for not making enough arrangements despite the finances being assured. As per Cricket Pakistan, Ashraf and Sheikh were involved in a heated exchange after which the latter exited the meeting. However, Sheikh apologised then next day and rejoined his duties.

PSL 2024 draft

A total of 485 players were shortlisted for the PSL 2024 Draft. The likes of Kieron Pollard, David Willey, Reece Topley were available in the top category of the draft. A total of 108 were drafted by six franchises for the PSL9.

All the the six franchises – Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United and Karachi Kings – completed their 18-member squads for the ninth edition of PSL.
