PSL 2023: Fans stay calm as the match between Qalandars and Sultans turns out a nailbiter
Lahore Qalandars kept their nerve as the PSL got off to a thrilling start in Multan on Monday. Mohammad Rizwan stroked a fine 75 but couldn’t get his side home in a crunch finish. Shaheen Afridi’s side eventually held on by just a solitary run to get 2 points. Qalandars skipper Shaheen made a stunning comeback on return as the southpaw finished with figures of one for 27 of his four overs. The left-arm pacer was also smart with bowling changes and did not allow Sultans to build any steady partnerships.
Lahore Qalandars, under the leadership of Shaheen Afridi, won the last edition with a dominant win over Multan Sultans in the final. They finished the group-stage round in the second position with six wins from ten matches. Shaheen was the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 20 wickets from 13 innings and returned from his injury.
